Working occasionally under the alias Rebel Ally (an old moniker from his days as a radio DJ), Justin B. Thompson is a self-taught artist with a keen eye for both chaos and beauty. While he began his artistic journey as a pen-and-ink illustrator, he is best known for his surrealist analog collages.

As a history teacher by day, Thompson instills in each piece a distinct sense of time and place while retaining a strangeness untethered from either. A sharp sense of wit often cuts through his collages like a favorite pair of scissors, winking at the absurd, lustful follies of human nature.

Justin splits his time between eastern and western Washington State, collecting materials and inspiration along the desert highways in between.
